Growing up in Los Angeles I was a total literature junky, stealing books off my dad’s nightstand as early as I can remember. That escape to other times, other places and other experiences led me to Berkeley (and a BA in English lit) to play volleyball. After graduation my love of adventure took on a whole new form and I moved to Milan, Italy where I fell in love with fashion and old world red wine. Then I fell in love with a man and moved to San Francisco and worked at Gap Inc. Four years later, after years of scribbling notes on the back of airplane in-flight magazines, we left our jobs, our home and our friends and took a year off and traveled around the world, visiting 41 countries along the way. We climbed mountains, floated down rivers, ate, drank, swam, drove, danced and lived the freest life you can image. Upon returning from our adventures we moved back to LA and had 2 crazy little boys and rescued a golden retriever and yet, we still continue to adventure. My eldest son is four and has been to 15 countries and the little guy is 1 and he’s been to 5. This blog is about adventures, local and global, with kids in tow most of the time, and about all the things I love as I wander around this globe seeking escapes. I’d love to hear about your adventures too.
